We believe... And confess

In the Triune God... The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit... Three distinct persons yet one God...

God the father... The creator of all things in heaven and on earth, who in his overwhelming love for us His creation, offered up His only Begotten Son, that all who believe in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. To him be glory and honor forever and ever. Amen.

God the son... Conceived by the Holy Spirit and born through the Virgin Mary came into the world are humble servant, and offering Himself up for us all at the cross, took upon Himself our sins, even the sins of the whole world, that through His holy precious blood shed for us we might be restored to the image of God lost in the fall of Adam into sin and inherent everlasting life. Through his resurrection from the dead he now sits at the right hand of God the father and will come again in the proper season to judge both the living and the dead; those who believe in him as Lord and Savior to everlasting life; those who reject Him as Lord and Savior to everlasting death. To him be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.

God the Holy Spirit... Who through the message of the cross creates faith within the hearts and minds of all who believe in Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior. Working in and through God’s holy Word and Sacraments He brings life and forgiveness into the lives of all believers. To Him be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.

In God’s grace to us in the Holy Sacraments...

Baptism... That through the Sacrament of holy Baptism God the Holy Spirit pours the most precious gift of faith into the hearts of those who are being saved. In the waters of baptism, and through the proclamation of the gospel were received as a free gift of God’s grace the forgiveness of sins purchased for us at the cross of Jesus Christ and poured into the waters at Jesus’ own baptism.

Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church is a church focused on the gospel – the Good News of God’s unending love for us in Jesus Christ and the free gift of everlasting life that is now ours through faith in his atoning work at the cross.
